“I currently work as an Outreach & Recruitment Officer at the University of Bradford, where I design and deliver outreach activities that help students explore higher education and support their university applications.
My time at THA Football Centres massively boosted my confidence. I learned to trust my instincts and make quick decisions, knowing that if something didn’t go to plan, we’d adapt and try again. The fast-paced environment taught me to think on my feet — whether that was adjusting a drill last-minute or handling the unpredictability that comes with coaching kids.
Micheal Makhlouf
“I currently work as a football coach for the Al Jazira Football Club Private Academy in the UAE where my main responsiblities are delivering fun and engaging sessions to kids aged 5-11 years old.
My time at THA was one of the most informative, enriching, and fun experiences as a coach so far in my career. Having the support of Coach Ethan and Coach Simon really gave me the much needed boost in confidence I felt was necessary at the time. From being given bits of the session to plan and lead, to designing the whole session and managing a group on my own, the positive feedback really helped me develop both on and off the pitch!”

“I currently hold the role of Manager of the Women’s Reserves Team at Horsforth St Margaret’s, where I manage the team and prepare players to step up to first-team level.
My journey at THA has been an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth as a young coach, building my confidence and belief through continuous learning and a strong coaching support system that consistenly challenges and guides me.
I’ve gained valuable lessons from mentorship by Ethan and Simon as well as from applying ideas in practice. Key takeaways include the importance of peer communication, strong support networks, and to always “be a sponge.”
Alex Fletcher Anderson
“I currently work as a school sports coach for ASM Sports (UK) Ltd and am the Manager and Head Coach of a Saturday and Sunday team at Biddulph Town FC. From January 2026, I will begin an MA in Leadership in Sport while relocating to the United States to undertake an 18-month football coaching internship.
My time at THA has been unforgettable, both professionally and personally. It was here that I discovered my passion for coaching and decided to pursue it as a career. From assisting senior coaches to leading my own sessions and age groups, THA played a huge role in developing my coaching skills, leadership, and understanding of athlete development.
During a challenging period in my personal life, the support of the THA coaching team was invaluable. Their belief in me, both on and off the pitch, helped me continue pursuing my goals. Without THA, I would not be the coach or person I am today. The lessons, values, and experiences I gained will stay with me for life.”

“I am currently studying for a degree at Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester City Community Football Coaching. This programme combines academic principles of coaching with practical experience through placement within Manchester City’s community programme.
THA provided the perfect foundation for me to develop confidence and coaching skills before starting my degree. During my time at THA, I progressed to assisting across multiple age groups and leading sessions for the parent and toddler group, which significantly improved my session delivery and confidence.
THA also supported my ongoing development by creating a positive environment where coaches are encouraged and motivated to improve week by week, helping prepare me to succeed at university and in the wider coaching world.”
