Football Coaching Opportunity

We are looking to help student coaches with placements at both our Leeds Football Centre in Horsforth and our Hull Football Centre in Anlaby. This is a great opportunity for anyone who requires experience in sports coaching and needs to have hours coaching experience for their sports coaching course. You will be working with Children and alongside our experienced coaching staff to gain valuable practical experience.

Liv’s Journey – a sports coaching volunteer at THA

Liv was a level 6 student at Leeds Beckett University studying Sports Coaching. last year. As part of Liv’s third year placement, she worked and gaining experience of all areas of our football centre in Leeds and ultimately was in charge of the 5 to 7 year age group.

What you will gain?

An induction in to how our football centres are operated administratively along with protocols for health and safety and safeguarding policies. Invaluable experience of working with a wide age range of children and be involved with assisting and leading coaching sessions.

You will be working with our experienced football coaches who have worked with grassroots football, women’s senior football, coaching overseas, professional football academies, football academies and have links with university coach education,

By taking care of our children we first have to take care of our staff. Health and safety plays an important role in our induction process. Liv was trained in our risk assessment process, pitch inspection, safety of children on site, fire evacuation, COVID 19 protocols and has completed our CPD training workshop in Safeguarding Children.

Joe, age 16, provides support for our Coaching Staff

As a responsible company at the heart of a community, we recognise the need for young people to gain valuable experience in their chosen fields of endeavour.

Meet Joe, a sixth form student, who is studying History, Economics and Sociology. While these are not sporting subjects, Joe loves football and has seized the opportunity to be part of the sport he loves, while enhancing his CV for future employment opportunities.

What are we looking for in sports coaching volunteers?

Energetic and outgoing, you will be aged between 16 and 25 and be currently studying a sports qualification at a sixth form School or College of Further Education or be enrolled on a degree course at Leeds Beckett or Leeds Trinity Universities.

Following a successful trial period, you may be invited to join our football coach education course with the possibility of paid employment at our centre.
